Both students bow to each other before the exercise.

Both students stand in Parallel Ready Stance facing opposite each other.

The Attacker [A] steps back into L-Stance, Guarding Block and shouts, “Ya!” to signify that they are ready to attack.

The Defender [D] is in Parallel Stance and then shouts, “Ya!” to signify that they are ready to defend.

Both students then move as accordingly, with the attacker moving forwards and the defender moving backwards. Please see below for the 6 individual routines.

ROUTINES 1 - 6 :

1/         A:         Walking Stance, Middle Obverse Punch;

Walking Stance, Front Snap Kick;

D:         Walking Stance, Middle Inner Forearm Block;

Walking Stance, X-Fist Checking Block;

& to counter-attack: slip the front foot into Walking Stance, Obverse Middle Punch

2/         A:         Walking Stance, High Obverse Punch;

Side Piercing Kick with back foot (landing in L-stance Guarding Block)

D:         Walking Stance, High Outer Forearm Block;

L-Stance, Inward Pushing Block;

& to counter-attack: slip the front foot into Walking Stance, Reverse Elbow Strike

3/         A:         Walking Stance, Front Snap Kick;

Sitting Stance Middle Obverse Punch;

D:         Walking Stance, Low Outer Forearm Block;

pivot round into Sitting Stance to dodge; raise right leg up for Side-Rising Kick & to counter-attack: drop into Knife-Hand Strike (still in Sitting Stance)

4/         A:         Side Piercing Kick (with back foot);

Sitting Stance, Knife-Hand Strike (with left hand);

D:         step back with left foot into L-Stance Knife-Hand Guarding Block;

L-Stance, Single Knife-Hand Block (with left hand);

& to counter-attack: slip the front foot into Walking Stance, Reverse Middle Punch

5/         A:         Walking Stance, High Obverse Punch;

Walking Stance, Front Snap Kick;

D:         Walking Stance, High Double Inner Forearm Block;

step back into Rear Foot Stance, Palm Upward Block;

& to counter-attack: slip the foot front into Walking Stance, Reverse Upset Punch

6/         A:         High Turning Kick with the back foot;

Walking Stance, Twin Vertical Punch;    

D:         Walking Stance, High Double Inner Forearm Block;

Walking Stance, Twin Knife-Hand Wedging Block;

& to counter-attack: Grab the back of the head of the attacker and Knee to the floating rib (with back leg). Then finish in Walking Ready Stance.

When the routine is completed for each one, both students return to Parallel Ready Stance and switch roles.

Both students bow to each other after the exercise.
