Both students bow to each other before the exercise.
 
Both students, of the same height, stand in Attention Stance facing opposite each other.
 
The Attacker [A] then measures up as accordingly with their right foot to the Defender’s left foot:

Routine 1: line your big toe up with the Defender’s little toe

Routine 2: line your big toe up with the Defender’s little toe

Routine 3: line your big toe up with the Defender’s little toe

Routine 4: line your heel up with the Defender’s heel

The Attacker [A] steps back into Walking Stance, Low Outer Forearm Block and shouts, “Ya!” to signify that they are ready to attack.

The Defender [D] then steps out with the left foot into Parallel Ready Stance and then shouts, “Ya!” to signify that they are ready to defend.

Both students then move as accordingly, with the attacker moving forwards and the defender moving backwards. Please see below for the 4 individual routines.
 
ROUTINES 1 - 4: 

1/         A:         Walking Stance, Middle Obverse Punch; (X3)

D:         Walking Stance, Middle Inner Forearm Block; (X3)

& to counter-attack: on the spot, Reverse Middle Punch

2/         A:         Walking Stance, Front Snap Kick; (X3)

D:         Walking Stance, Low Outer Forearm Block; (X3)

& to counter-attack: on the spot, Reverse Middle Punch

3/         A:         Walking Stance, Front Snap Kick; (X3)

D:         Walking Stance, Low Knife-Hand Block; (X3)

& to counter-attack: on the spot, Reverse High Flat Fingertip Thrust

4/         A:         Walking Stance, High Obverse Punch; (X3)

D:         Walking Stance, Rising Block; (X3)

& to counter-attack: on the spot, High Reverse Punch

When the routine is completed for each one, both students return to Attention Stance and switch roles.
 
Both students bow to each other after the exercise.
